TOP OF THE MOUNTAINS CONFERENCE

STANLEY, IDAHO USA

And it shall come to pass in the last days, when the mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills, and all nations shall flow unto it. And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob, and he will teach us of his ways and we will walk in his paths.

–– 2 Nephi 8:4

Important Campsite Information

The Top of the Mountains Conference will take place in a dispersed camping area near Stanley, Idaho. Anyone who wants to stay at the actual conference location will either need to bring a tent or trailer/RV. Alternatively, you can book a hotel or AirBNB in the Stanley, Idaho area and come to the conference location during the day for scheduled events. All attendees will be responsible for their own meals during the conference.

TENT & TRAILER SITES

There will be designated tent camping areas, as well as trailer/RV areas. There will not marked or assigned tent and trailer/RV sites, however, so once you arrive at the conference location, you'll be able to choose where you'd like to set up camp. If you'd like to camp near specific friends or family, it's recommended that you coordinate your arrival time, as there's no guarantee the area around you won't be filled with other campers.

CAMPSITE AMENITIES

The campsite is a dispersed site, with NO designated tent and trailer sites or amenities like vault toilets, fire rings, grills, showers, potable water spigots or eletric, sewer or water RV hookups. Additionally, there is NO cellphone service at the campsite or wifi available. If you need service or wifi, you'll need to drive to Stanley, about 15 minutes away from the campsite.

To make camping easier for all conference attendees, however, we will provide the following amenities:

  • Portable toilets for tent campers and those who are staying off-site

    • If you're bringing a trailer or RV, we ask that you use your own toilets and let those who need them use the portable toilets we're providing.

  • Potable water on a truck where you can fill your personal water jugs daily

  • A large outdoor tent for all main conference events and meetings

ICE, TRASH AND CAMPFIRES

  • ICE: If you need to re-fill the ice in your coolers, you'll have to drive to Stanley, about 15 minutes away, to get fresh ice.

  • TRASH: All conference attendees will be responsible of hauling away their own trash. Please bring your own trash bags and plan to take all trash away with you as well.

  • CAMPFIRES: Campfires will be allowed at camp, if they are built in a safe area and are dead out before left unattended. You will need to bring your own firewood, kindling and lighter if you plan to make a fire.

For detailed packing lists, click the button below.

SAWTOOTH MOUNTAINS WEATHER

PLEASE check the expected weather during the campout as you begin packing here. During late June the temperature at night can drop into the low 40’s. During the day the temperature can rise into the high 70's or low 80’s. The key is to bring layers of clothing so you can adjust what you're wearing at different parts of the day.

CAMPSITE RULES

To ensure the safety of all conference attendees, please adhere to the following campsite rules:

  • Do not ride ATVs in the campsite. If you bring ATVs, only ride them on designated ATV trails or away from the campsite.

  • As of right now, campfires will be allowed at camp, if they are built in a safe area and are "dead out" before left unattended. You will need to bring your own firewood, kindling and lighter if you plan to make a fire. Fire restrictions may change before the conference begins, so please check the local regulations closer to the conference date if you have questions.

  • If you are bringing a trailer or RV, please be considerate of tent campers when running your generators. Please use your own toilets and give the tent campers and day visitors priority to use the provided portable toilets.

EVERYONE PLEASE BRING THESE ITEMS

COMMUNAL COFFEE

In the large tent there will be an area with extension cords and tables where we can plug in coffee pots each morning for people to brew and enjoy their coffee together. If you can, bring the following items to contribute to our communal coffee each morning!

  • Coffee pot, labeled with masking tape and your name

  • Enough coffee grounds for a full pot of coffee to share each morning of the conference

  • Half-and-half or your favorite coffee creamer to share

FOLDING CHAIRS

The conference welcome meeting, sacrament and all speaker sessions will take place under a large tent. Camp chairs often take up more room than folding chairs and will be needed back at the tent and trailer sites, so we are asking everyone to bring folding chairs that can stay in the tent for the duration of the conference. The chairs will be set up in rows with walkways.

Please make sure your chairs are labeled, and you know how many you brought, so you don’t leave any behind when you leave the conference. If you have more chairs than your family or group needs, we will definitely need extras, so please bring them if you can!

SACRAMENT EMBLEMS

On Sunday, June 30, there will be a group sacrament meeting. Please provide the following items for your entire family/group. Plastic cups for wine and grape juice will be provided by the conference organizers.

  • A bread basket or bowl for bread, labeled with your name

  • Enough bread for your family/group

  • Wine

  • Grape Juice (if anyone in your group needs it)

We’ll combine the bread and have it passed to everyone in the group. Each family/group will pour their own wine or grape juice at their seats.
